AVID KEY:
BC= Binder Checks- students are called up in random order to meet with tutor who checks organization over 3 days.
AC= AVID Curriculum- AVID Lessons, Socratic Seminars & progress reflections
CN= Cornell Notes- Students are given time to revisit Cornell Notes in class twice weekly to ease homework load and help them prepare for weekly quizzes and tests. AVID tutors help them develop note taking skills by checking over their Cornell Notes (pull-out time during AVID lessons)
TRF- Tutorial Request Forms- Students are given SOME time to begin their weekly TRF
Tutorials- No organization happens on these days. This time is strictly dedicated to tutorial process and reflection.
FRIDAYS! - Yay! Hard work pays off! We participate in team building, create artwork, go to the computer lab for virtual field trips, take field trips to college campuses, have guest speakers, play academic enhancing games, have a weekly drawing, share SUCCESS stories!

Current AVID Requirement: 3 CN per week from 3 different content areas, 1 TRF per week.

Thursday-
8:30- Enter class with TRF in hand, ready to be sorted and logged for tutorial.
8:32-8:40 Attendance, Announcements (TRFs are dropped off at each academic center for tutorial) Students gather notes and resources.
8:40-8:50 Students shift to academic subjects for tutorial with all resources
8:50- Tutorials begin (Goal- 3 rounds)
9:20- Tutorials conclude and reflections begin
9:30- Reflections are due
Friday-
8:30- Daily Organization, Attendance, Announcements
8:40-9:15 Friday Activity- LET'S CELEBRATE SUCCESS!
9:15- Clean-Up, Organize, Reflect
9:28- Weekly Drawing
